About the event
About this event:
This Islamic geometry workshop will explore a pattern from Islamic traditions. This month we will be looking at a six-fold Mughal pattern found in tiles at Shah Jahan Mosque, Pakistan and the Tomb of Itimud ad-Daula, Agra, India.
See a clearer picture of the pattern we will draw here.
During the session we will be using a compass and ruler to create a geometric pattern template and we will go through the process of transferring and repeating the template on to watercolour paper. The pattern we will create in class is pictured.
The last part of the session will be an opportunity to explore painting techniques so you can create your own piece of work to take home.
Equipment and materials will be provided during the class.
